A month before the Paralympic Athletics World Championship of Doha begins, Xavi Porras intensifies his preparation in length with the intention of increasing the number of medals won at previous world championships

Xavi Porras, which celebrates his tenth anniversary representing the section of Athletics of F.C. Barcelona will participate in the long jump, in which he has many options to get a medal and become one of the most honoured Paralympic athletes in our country.

Our athlete from Olot will not be part of the relay team and will run the 100 meter to keep himself ready for the length event, on 27 October. The reason is that last week while training. Xavi felt some pain on his right leg where he already had an injury in 2007.

The team of doctors and his trainer have planned workouts from now and until the length event is disputed and are very optimistic about Xavi returning to Spain with a medal.

"For three weeks I will not perform any explosive effort with the right leg, I will work my left leg which I use to jump working with dumbbells, and from there, I'll introduce speed series of 40 to 60 meters, I think following this protocol I will arrive in good condition to the lenght event and I'll think about a possible medal", explained Xavi Porras.
